Kantha —Presents from Mother

Kantha are 4 or 5 layered quilts from the Bengal region. They are made with recycled white cotton and embroidered intermittently with spare cloth during breaks from farm work or other free time. The design of these quilts tells a story that rarely fails to move the observer. The old cloth has been refreshed, purified and given a new life by the hand of a mother. It's a special item.
